A Piano Worth Waiting For: Terry's Signature Baby Grand

Some deliveries are just deliveries. And then there are the ones our team still talks about back at the workshop.

Terry had been thinking about a piano for a long time before he ever called us. Not "thinking about buying a piano" in the way you might think about a new sofa, but thinking about it the way you think about something you've wanted since you were young. He told us, over the course of a couple of phone calls while we worked through his order, that he'd grown up next to a piano he was never quite good enough to play properly, in a house that wasn't his. Life got busy. Decades passed. The piano stayed a "someday."

This year, someday finally arrived.

Delivery day is always a good day for our team, but this one was something else. Our installers talked Terry through the setup, loaded his iPad with a library of recordings, and showed him how to start a performance at the touch of a screen. Terry stood back, watched the keys move on their own for the first time, and didn't say anything for a moment. Then he said it was exactly what he'd imagined as a kid, except better, because this one was his.

He's since told us he plays it himself most evenings, badly by his own admission, and lets it play itself the rest of the time. Both, he says, feel like the same kind of magic.
