Setting the Scene at Elixir: A Baby Grand for Queen Square
Share
Some pianos go into living rooms. This one went into one of Liverpool's most talked-about rooms altogether.
Elixir started life in Oxton Village on the Wirral, where it's spent twelve years building a reputation for creative cocktails, inspired tapas, and the kind of evenings people plan their week around. When the team opened their second room on Queen Square in Liverpool city centre, a short walk from the Empire, the Royal Court and the Playhouse, they wanted the new space to feel just as considered as the original. Relaxed elegance with modern flair, as they put it. Somewhere that felt as good to look at as the cocktails taste.
That's where we came in.
The Elixir team got in touch about a piano that could do two jobs at once: sit beautifully in the room during the day, and provide a genuine live-music atmosphere in the evening, without needing a pianist on the payroll every single night. Between live music on Fridays and Saturdays, Sunday roasts, bottomless brunches and a full events calendar, Queen Square rarely has a quiet moment, so the piano needed to earn its place.
We delivered and installed a self-playing baby grand built for exactly this kind of setting, with our enhanced speaker system giving it the clarity and presence to fill a room full of conversation and clinking glasses without ever feeling like background noise. On quieter afternoons, it plays itself softly through a curated library of music. On busy nights, it becomes part of the show, keys moving, room watching, drinks flowing.
Our installers set it up alongside the Elixir team, loaded the music library, and walked them through running performances from the included iPad, so switching moods, and playlists, takes seconds.
What made this delivery special wasn't just the piano, it was watching a genuinely lovely, hardworking team welcome it into a space they clearly care about deeply. Twelve years in Oxton, a brand new room in the heart of Liverpool, and now a piano that plays a part in every roast, every brunch, and every Friday night in between. We're proud it's ours.
If you're in Liverpool or on the Wirral, go and see it for yourself, and say hello to the piano while you're there.
